Event Planning

Looking to host an event on Pemberton trails? Follow the steps outlined below to successfully collaborate with the PVTA. Please reach out for further discussion or questions.

Contact the PVTA

The PVTA is the body that oversees trails within the Pemberton Valley.  Membership numbers are important to the Association; event planners are encouraged to have all of their participants become members.  A yearly PVTA membership is $10.

Make an event plan

Each plan should include:

  • Plan to mitigate event impact upon trails

  • Safety plan

  • Event route and timeline

  • Means of public notification

Notify private land owners

Some trails within the network, particularly in the Mosquito Lake zone, are on private property.  Contact the appropriate land owners to receive event permission.

Coordinate and apply for relevant park use permits from the Village of Pemberton and/or the SLRD.

Secure event insurance

List the PVTA, Village of Pemberton, SLRD, and private land owners as additional insured parties.

Depending on your organization and event, you may need to receive permission to hold an event on Crown land.
