Marking International Trails Day in Pemberton: Morning Trail Project and Afternoon Celebration at One Mile Lake with Trans Canada Trail Pemberton, BC – The Pemberton Valley Trails Association (PVTA) invites community members to come together for International Trails Day on Saturday, June 7, 2025 — one of only 13 signature events taking place across Canada that are supported by Trans Canada Trail. The day will begin with a community trail project at 9:00 a.m., meeting at the bottom of Happy Trail. Hosted by PVTA as part of its ongoing seasonal trail care efforts, the morning activity will focus on sustainable trail building practices and offer volunteers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the local trail network. Starting at 12:00 p.m., the focus shifts to One Mile Lake Parking Lot for an afternoon supported by Trans Canada Trail’s Trail Care Grant Program. The celebration includes a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ, family programming, and a fire mitigation walk led by the Spel’kúmtn Community Forest team and a Líl̓wat forester, offering insights into wildfire and cultural fire in the area. Celebrated annually on the first Saturday in June, International Trails Day recognizes the role trails play in fostering outdoor activity, connection to nature, and strong, healthy communities. The Sea to Sky Trail, a part of the 29,000-kilometre Trans Canada Trail, runs through Pemberton. This free, family-friendly event is open to all.
