Cream Puff Closure

27/2/2023

Safety Notice from Howler Contracting:
Due to the construction requirements of the Sunstone Subdivision the trail Cream Puff will be closed for the coming months from February 22nd 2023.  Most importantly though, the trail's iconic experience of riding along incredible natural slabs will be preserved within the new subdivision for generations to come through wide trail corridor that runs through the subdivision.  Unfortunately there will be two on grade road crossings shown in the map below but the locations have been designed to ensure the best possible experience for the trail user while still providing access to the surrounding properties.

As part of Sunstone's commitment to the community they have hired Howler Contracting Limited to build a fully accessible Green level trail outside their subdivision called the Sunstone to Lake Trail.  This trial will create access on the east side of the Mackenzie/ Mosquito Lake trail network providing a beautiful journey through stunning old growth trees and spectacular viewpoints.  This trail will be completed by early summer 2023 as a gravel surfaced trail.  The top section above Smell the Glove will open first allowing Upper Cream Puff to be utilized, check Trailforks for the latest updates.  Upon completion of this gravel trail Howler will then be working on further improving trail connectivity for Sunstone on the paved section of the valley trail through the sports fields along with another community walking trail on the west side of the subdivision.  Sunstone has been the principle contributor to the development of the recreation site completing earthworks for: the Soccer fields, Skills Park and Baseball Field and is working on delivering more.
