The PVTA was the proud recipient of a generous grant from @wbfoundation,Whistler Blackcomb Foundation EnviroFund to fix up a section of the Mackenzie Basin trail under a project titled Mackenzie Basin Road Loop Upgrade Phase 1.
The work focused on a portion of trail and a stream crossing near the exit to Live Like Lisa that experiences seasonal flooding and erosion. The work included re-contouring the trail leading to the crossing, improving drainage, replacing the wooden crossing once the trail grades were re-established. Not only has the work done made the trail more functional for bikers, hikers, equestrians and moto riders, the improvements will benefit water quality and surrounding vegetation. Also, a huge thank you to Zander from @howlercontracting who was contracted to work on this project with us.
